Welcome to the First Baptist Church of Bennington, Vermont. We are glad that you “surfed the web” and found us! Perhaps you are seeking a church to attend or perhaps you are searching for answers to life and life’s situations. You have come to the right place! We have a rotation of Pastors who preach the sermon and conduct the service. Dr. Alan Ingalls preaches the first and fourth Sunday of each month and the second and third Sundays we have visiting pastors from around the region.

 Come and visit us soon. We are located at 601 Main Street in Bennington. Our church services are held weekly on Sundays at 10:30 am. For the months of November-March we will be in the church chapel. Please enter the doors in the newer building/annex and take a right at the first hall way to the double doors  at the end of the hall. During April-October, please either enter the doors at the Sanctuary with the stained-glass windows and the pipe organ, or enter through the annex as stated above.

 You will experience the love of God when you enter this place. No matter where your life’s journey has brought you to today, you are welcome here! We are a small, growing church with a heart.

 Our church has been gathering to worship God since April 11, 1827. We are affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA. Join us, as you are able. You will be greeted by caring people and feel welcome during your visit. Our worship service consists of inspirational, classic hymns with piano or organ. We also include upbeat, Contemporary Christian songs, as well. You will hear stimulating and life-changing messages based on the Bible. 

 After the church service, you will have the opportunity to mingle and fellowship (having coffee, juice and food) with the people of the church who will welcome you and make you feel right at home!

Unfortunately, the church is unable not provide financial assistance with bills and does not hand out vouchers. The church does gives funds to of the Greater Bennington Community Services (GBCS) located at 121 Depot Street. GBCS is home to the Kitchen Cupboard, the Food and Fuel Fund, and the Bennington Free Clinic. To contact GBCS call 802-447-3700 or visit gbicsbennington.org .
