Greetings in the name of Jesus! I feel strongly called to pastoral ministry in Bennington, and I’m glad my family and I have joined with FBC to share God’s love in Christ, by the power of the Holy Spirit. By God’s amazing grace, I began my calling as pastor here in December of 2015. I’m eager to continue to seek the Lord’s blessings together in prayer and worship, in preaching and teaching the Bible, and in fellowship and service together.
My wife Michelle and I met at a Christian college near Chattanooga, Tennessee, and we were married soon after graduation. We have four children: two boys and two girls who are in the local public schools. When we married we settled in Chattanooga, where I had a career in computer programming, and where we began our family together. During this time I was active at our local church, helping lead the church as an elder, and serving in various capacities, including shepherding, music, teaching children and adults, and community outreach.
I grew up in a Christian family and have known Jesus as my Lord and Savior since childhood. My older sister and I were born in New Jersey, and when I was young we moved to Florida, where I spent my entire childhood. My grandparents had a small home on Lake Bomoseen, Vermont, which became home-away-from-home for our entire extended family. Now my parents live there for most of the year, and much of my extended family lives in the area as well. I am very excited that we have returned “home” to Vermont.
I was invited to preach at our local church, and through that the Lord revealed to me, and to others, a surprising calling to full-time pastoral ministry. God also very clearly laid on our hearts the desire to minister in New England. Through some amazing circumstances, I was clearly called to part-time pastoral training and internship program at a local church in Portland, Maine. After a few years in Maine, which was very good, yet included some difficulty, the Lord renewed my calling to vocational ministry, and sent us to continue my training at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, MA, where I completed an M.Div. degree in October 2016. I was officially ordained for ministry in the American Baptist Church on September 24, 2017.
Over the years my family and I have experienced various ups and downs of life. Through it all I have learned that God is always gracious, and gives us peace beyond understanding as we trust in Him. I’m thankful that I’ve learned how to study and proclaim the scriptures, and how to apply it to our everyday lives. I am passionate about the faithful preaching of God’s word, about faithful pastoral care, about community outreach, and about seeking God’s guidance and blessings through prayer. I look forward to getting to know you, and continue in prayer for God’s guidance. May God’s peace, power, and presence be with you in Jesus.
